So I could have bought it. Why didn't they put it on Ebay?

Unless I've lost the inability to read it sold for £2. I have £2.

See?

I read the article again and still can't see how it would cost me £100 million. I also read they gave the buyers (who paid £2) a further £50m. So...that means I pay £2 to get £50m. Not taking into account any debts the company has, I would call that an excellent return on investment.

Looks like Kesa were desperate to get rid of Comet to offer a £50m investment and also maintain the £40m pension fund. I guess the £2 was just to show the company has been sold on paper

it's my casual "have week off work so won't bother getting dressed much or doing anything with my wig".

I must say after reading the posts on here about getting pound coins I did think of doing it but then realised I'd probably be blamed for all the ones I didn't do. I can confirm those £1 coins came out of my wallet and not a shopping trolley.

I'm schizophrenic but I'm good people.

What would some people do with Comet if they owned it?

The thing is; if you did buy Comet for £2 you would find out when you got home and find it didn't work, and that there were bits missing. You would not get a refund as they would claim you had already opened the packaging - even though that is against your statutory rights.

Comet's in Newbury was the best electrical shop in Newbury. The service was brilliant, and the staff was nice. You can't say the same about Curry's.

The difficulty in buying Comet for £2.00, is trying to leave the shop without being pestered for the warranty! That's assuming they have one in stock of course!
