A colleague used Cabco, I found they were quite resonable last year (same weather conditions) but decided against the unusually expensive starting cost for this year with a much more pocket friendly taxi of Mum

Having needed to get a taxi back from the works Christmas 'Do', my partner and I discovered that they were charging a starting fee of £10 before even starting the journey.

From previous use we know that a £2.50 charge is the standard starting charge, fair enough the weather is dangerous but a 400% increase is a bit over the top. I appreciate that taxi drivers have to make a living but I feel that its way too much and taking advantage of the situation.

Anyone else experiencing this?

It was there for a few years at least, twas a very handy place for getting your phone unlocked.

If she had not been travelling in the buses blind spot the driver would have made sure that she didn't hit them.

I'm sure it's the lack of appropriate signage and not because she was tailgating a bus.

Would it have been "illegal" if they had looked after the other's children in the childs home rather than that of the parent looking after them?

Having inside knowledge of what's going on with the buses helps with the 'wild exaggerations'

10 seconds might not seem a long time but after stopping at least twice per journey, 6/7 journeys it soon adds up especially if the traffic is particularly bad.

But then they would get complaints from the bus users for arriving late on their routes. If they were to stop after the bollards every time then you would need to extend their routes by an extra 5 - 10mins, resulting in fewer services due to the time needed to complete them.

They could put the signs on the backs of the buses, then the only problem is that they may be too close to the bus to read it

Reminds me of the time my partner and I were pulled over, riding a moped, with L's displayed but taped over(his brother had yet to pass his test).

We had apparently broken 4 laws, unfortunately the copper mistook the moped for a motorbike.

After a few annoyed weeks, the chief inspector personally came and apologised to us for doing nothing wrong.

The bus company is currently going through a 'phase', don't be too shocked if they go on strike in a few months time
