I don't think so, as James Trinder said Reading Transport has never wanted to be in Newbury, they have been trying to get rid of their Newbury counter part for a while now.

A colleague used Cabco, I found they were quite resonable last year (same weather conditions) but decided against the unusually expensive starting cost for this year with a much more pocket friendly taxi of Mum

Having needed to get a taxi back from the works Christmas 'Do', my partner and I discovered that they were charging a starting fee of £10 before even starting the journey.
From previous use we know that a £2.50 charge is the standard starting charge, fair enough the weather is dangerous but a 400% increase is a bit over the top. I appreciate that taxi drivers have to make a living but I feel that its way too much and taking advantage of the situation.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Before my barge holiday last year we went to a riverside pub for lunch, I found an alive caterpillar in my chicken ceaser salad after eating half of it!
Put me off restaurant salad's for a while.

Having inside knowledge of what's going on with the buses helps with the 'wild exaggerations'
10 seconds might not seem a long time but after stopping at least twice per journey, 6/7 journeys it soon adds up especially if the traffic is particularly bad.

But then they would get complaints from the bus users for arriving late on their routes. If they were to stop after the bollards every time then you would need to extend their routes by an extra 5 - 10mins, resulting in fewer services due to the time needed to complete them.
