Option 1 - A4 to Kintbury then on to Inkpen from there

Option 2 - the back road past The Craven Arms and through Hamstead Marshall

Has anyone travelled these roads recently who can impart some advice on whether one route is a better option than the other? Or are they both fine?

Is the Enborne road a back road? It would be the main route to Hungerford/Kintbury if you are on the south side of Newbury wouldn't it? I would think either route would be fine. Certainly as far as Kintbury, Enborne Road would be.

Station Road into Kintbury off the A4 has been covered with water before the railway, but has been passable, though I haven't been through for a few days. Coming from Enborne that last corner before you come into Kintbury sometimes collects deep water, though I haven't passed it for a while, and you could take Forbury Lane into Inkpen rather than going into Kintbury and out again, though I haven't driven that in an age.

Thanks both.

The A4 is clearly the main road, so perhaps I should have called it a minor road route instead of a back road.
