Newbury Today Forum _ Random Rants _ Not a rant!

Posted by: JMH Jun 24 2009, 12:21 PM

Hi Everyone,

As the title suggests this is not a rant but is a request for recommendations.

My car needs a service and given that Renault are no longer ther, am wondering where else I could take my car. Ideally I need a pick up and drop off service (either for me or my car!). I work in Newbury.

Can anyone recommend a trustworthy garage I can use?

Thanks

J

Don't think they do pick up and drop off but the place near St Barts is well within walking distance and I have always found them to be ok.

Ive always use Bryan Ford in Thatcham, (next to the Snooker Club) and would highly recommend. Doubt they do a pick up and drop off service though

Hmmm, interesting, they're who I normally use (only for rushed m.o.t's so far!) due to location and convenience for where I work so it's nice to hear they're ok!

That's the kiddie. Not sure if they are any good (as I only know how to look under the bonnet, I don't claim to know what goes on) but they are cheap and normally can fit me in at very short notice.

Knightsbridge Garage, Headley on the A339 - family run, honest, very well thought of and do have courtesy cars. Have been using them for years

I think he/she meant to put "them" as in he/she would recommend the garage that the other person he/she was quoting mentioned.

Or were you being pedantic again? wink.gif

On the other hand, Bill1 may have been doing us all a service pointing this out, in case he meant 'the' and missed out some vital text, like "the other one around the corner, however". biggrin.gif

By the way, I am having a hard time keeping up with all the posts in this forum. I'm starting to feel guilty when I should really be watching the tennis. Is everyone retired, too young to go to school, or just not got enough to do at work? tongue.gif (Or if you're incapacitated or a victim of the recession, then please ignore this.)
