Newbury Today Forum _ Random Rants _ Amazon problem

Just a quickie, most of you will be up to speed on this but just in case, yup, got caught. Ordered new fone from Amazon, after a week van draws up guy pushes something through letterbox, I thought "that's odd" empty box squashed flat! Apparently its a 'thing' where gooners set up as retailer then simply take orders and post out empty boxes and after a week or so, dissapear. always check seller and look for where it says how long they've been with Amazon. I was lucky, got a refund but you might not be so fortunate. That's all.

Call me naive but I thought Amazon was the distributing company? I don't order a great deal from them but I do have one outstanding item so will wait and see. Thank you in advance if things do wrong.

Sometimes Amazon are the distributor for a 3rd party seller on Amazon Marketplace; many goods of course are sold by Amazon UK direct and sent from local warehouse, that has stock.
The Amazon product page will contain the detail.
These warehouses also hold the stock for some Amazon Marketplace sellers.

To confuse further, I've ordered an E Bay product but it arrived via Amazon
logistics, so presumably was sitting in an Amazon warehouse too.

Yes, the golden rule is to research the seller.
