I presume they now understand that the price of everyhing has soared and that us poor saps have not had a decent (if any) pay rise for 5 years so they will be ensuring all us hard working souls will also be getting 32%....

Or perhaps they just live in another world. blink.gif

Thinking about it I can understand why a multi millionaire land owner like Benyon would need a 32% pay rise. Its like a L'Oreal advert. Because I'm worth it.....

According to Cameron we are all in it together at the time of Austerity. If that is the case then it would be immoral to give them a wage rise.

This again is simply incredible! Yet another symptom of our very sick, leaderless society.

Politicians always seem to pick the wrong time to come up with things like this. Or is it just that they are out of touch with society?

I think if they award themselves a 32% pay increase then what follows will put the poll tax riots into the shade!!! ohmy.gif

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA), the people who conducted the poll, asked the MPs what they thought their salary should be. The MPs themselves will no longer be in charge of their remuneration. No surprises that Tory MPs thought they should be paid a value which was much higher than MPs from other parties thought. tongue.gif

They won't vote at all. Pay is now settled by IPSA.

Why do you say that? You said that MPs (not Tory MPs only), then you say "Tory MPs thought they should be paid a value much higher." So what is it? All MPs or just Tory MPs?

Why do I need to read the article? If anybody gets it wrong then somebody like you will jump in and correct them. An opportunity to increase their or your post count. wink.gif

And again: read the article. Then perhaps you'll understand what everyone else is talking about.

Instead of repeating myself read my previous post. To be honest I am quite happy to read what what put on the forum rather than read links.

If you read the article then you will know, after all it was you that endorses the value of Internet news. However, I worded it badly, what I meant was: out of all the MPs polled, Tories suggested a higher value than MPs from other parties.

If you look at the time stamps, they are quite close, I wouldn't have posted had I known. However, I supplied a link so that perhaps you might learn something. As for post counts, I'd rather it was less (hence my consolidating my replies to you).

Andy - I don't know why you waste your time answering him, especially with links. He is too lazy to read stuff up for himself and expects to be spoonfed with answers.
