Sad news that a young lady felt so low that she took her own life.
I do wonder though if the same outpouring of "grief" from her so called friends would be happening if she was a chap that had assaulted his girlfriend and was due to stand trial???

I'd also ask why some of her "friends" were not staying with her as she was obviously in a very bad place...

Sort of "do unto others before they do unto you" syndrome. I'm still getting my head round the cost of a railway. China can throw up a hospital in 10 days, and I doubt it cost that much, but we are going to spend the GNP of a couple of banana republics on something that we will be paying for long after I have shed my mortal coil and be finished when today's toddlers are starting work.
But Boris is in charge. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

In China they would bulldoze your house, give you a bit of cash, and if you complained too much, you would "disappear"....

Here we will have 16 public enquiries and take 20 years to get people out of trees.

Couldn't make it up could you. In for four more years of the moderate left rioting and screaming "not my president"!

Be plenty of "woke" tears on election night followed by screams of illegality and Russia, Facebook etc...All rather boring and predictable.

I see BJ is going to go on a massive capital spending splurge. This is interesting because if Labour ever do win again, they could well walk into the treasury to find a note saying there is no money left...😂😂😂😂

I did hear somewhere that the job creation rate under Trump is slower than under Obama’s last years. Bearing in mind that 10 years on the Tories still blame Labour for any problems I find it amusing that Trump was so quick to claim credit for what was most likely Obsma’s legacy. I freely admit I’m not an economics expert but I know enough to not over simplify things.

Shame the Democrats don't have anyone that resembles presidential at the moment...Trump is a cert for a 2nd term...

Love him or hate him

Donald Trump said "we have created seven million jobs" and that the unemployment rate was the lowest in half a century.
Fact,
Since Mr Trump took office in January 2017, almost 6.7 million jobs have been added. Jobs have been added every month dating back to October 2010, when President Obama was in office.

The unemployment rate for December was 3.5%. This is the lowest level in 50 years - it last dropped to 3.5% in December 1969.

Also,
Donald said unemployment rates among African Americans had reached record lows.
Fact,
The African-American unemployment rate hit 5.5% in September 2019, the lowest rate recorded since the US Labor Department started collecting these statistics, in 1972.

So, not too shabby then.

Nah...Orange bad man. An American luvvie told me.

More hyperbole, "The death toll from the new virus, which is officially called 2019-nCov, now stands at 259. "

Still, don't let facts get in your way. 😁

Us thick brexiteers dont do facts fella. Surely you know that?
Though I did predict Trump, Boris and Brexit.
Next up.... a global pandemic. Maybe not Corona but something else like bird flu... gonna happen. It's a cert. It's in certain peoples "interests"...

One day something will sweep across the planet and that will be that. Read an article a number of years ago that purported that it may well have been a viral pandemic that wiped out the dinosaur, as their resistance was effected by climate change owing to the Chicxulub asteroid.
For asteroid read climate change and start worrying.

People may laugh but I just acquired 4 surgical face masks. Someone I know works at a company that supplies them and a major ahem online retailer just tried to buy all of them (50000) in one go...presumably so they could rake in a massive profit. They were turned down...

I am also most happy being an old git. I tried for years to be nice...but gave up after one particular incident when I held a door open for what I presumed was a young lady...only to be told and I quote "you mysongyst ****"....I've also had plenty of "what you looking at"...when smiling at people....so head down...no eye contact...headphones on. Welcome to 21st Century Britain.🤣🤣🤣

That is indeed a tale of woe. I thought that I was having a bad week due to my washer dryer breaking and scratching the passenger side of my car on a lamppost but I think that you might have managed to trump that.

Trump? HOW very dare you!!!!! FASCIST!!!!!

To update those who are remotely interested, the whole day was worthy of countless expletives. Firstly the initial ticket was subject to a refund less a £10 fee after submitting a multi-page application. Arrived in Guildford in good time , and spent an hour trudging round in torrential precipitation seeking a cafe for a bite and coffee. Fast food outlets by the score ,but ask for a cheese sandwich and one has more chance of procuring crack cocaine, (so I am reliably informed). Wandered into the courthouse and strip searched by a couple of chaps one wouldn't wish to argue with. Confiscated my pocket knife, (which I now have to apply to the court for), before escorting me to the waiting area. Eventually called after 3 hours, spent all of 5 minutes saying my piece and then back to station as the train was pulling out. Eventually arrived home at 19.30 completely *******.

On a positive I now have made made a conscious decision not to help anyone but to become a miserable old git. cool.gif Comments accepted.

You took a knife to court???🤣🤣🤣

Priceless....

Thank you Biker1. Thought it a bit steep to charge £10 but as my train experience of the present system is limited I saw no reason to question it.
In response the TDH's assumption that I am guilty of some heinous crime all I can say is "No Comment!" rolleyes.gif

Come on Sir Will.. are you trying to tell us the worst thing you have done is run through fields of wheat??? Me? I was a bad lad when I was a young un. One lives and learns...

Thanks for that. Just to allay any fears that I am about to be posted to the colonies I have been asked to attend as character witness so you are not getting rid of me that quickly. Incidentally it has been postponed once again so may be prudent to do it on the day.

Come on Sir Will. Come clean... what you been up to?😂

Try “Let it Go”.

Actually I was disgusted by that. What decent human being takes a baseball bat to a defenceless and trapped animal. But honestly, I think your online radicalisation should concern you.

Me? Let it go? You have been the one going on about stopping Brexit. For 3 years...And then you agree with me about Jo Maugham but say I am "radicalised". You are funny....

Anyway I can't offer much on the subject of books I am afraid. I used to read a lot but only focus on the far right Twitter accounts now. 😂😂😂😂

I was unable to start reading this book on the train due to various issues but started reading it on Christmas Eve and then couldn't put it down until I had finished reading it because it was so addictive. For those of you who are unaware of the plot of the original, it concerns a dystopian future where a religious theocracy has taken over most of what was the USA due to a falling birth rate amongst other things. One of the key plot points is that certain fertile, unmarried women are now the property of the state and are forced to have children with men in positions of authority and then give up their children to the wives of those men. I would happily give this book 5/5 and say that it is a deserved joint winner of the Booker Prize in 2019.

I'm currently reading "Peope once respected me as a QC, but a fox and social media ruined my career" by Jolyon Maugham

Spot on!

In spite of three years worth of remain enthusiasts explaining why Brexit would be a horrific mistake the Party to staunchly maintain its Brexit position and made it its flagship policy wiped the board. What don't the LibDems and Labour understand about public opinion? The Country, outside the metropolitan bubble, simply wants out of Europe.

Quite and all the bollox about including labour as remain is just that...a lot of labour leave voters would have still voted labour.

So my guess 52% leave... funny that it's almost like people are not persuaded by tosh on social media... (and newres)

Quick question, did all those people who have been returning Labour MP'S since the dawn of time suddenly become thick when they voted Tory? Or, were they thick when they were voting labour, just didn't know it. Answers please on a self addressed polling card.

Emily Thornberry thinks so, allegedly... not sure who to believe, lady "rochester" nugee or caroline flint???🤣🤣🤣
