QUOTE (x2lls @ Jul 1 2010, 04:12 PM) Here's one I would most definately get shot of. Squatters rights? what about ours? http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/News/Article...articleID=13804I have a very long list, but my top one would be all the ethnic minority laws. The type that allow 'travellers' to build static homes on non dwelling land.

QUOTE (GMR @ Jul 1 2010, 05:49 PM) Taking pictures in public places... that is a stupid law. We are not an East Germany country yet run by the Stasi. Good one, considering that very subject is already in focus on the selfish driver topic.

QUOTE (x2lls @ Jul 1 2010, 06:47 PM) Good one, considering that very subject is already in focus on the selfish driver topic. As far as I can tell, there is no law about taking photos in public places. Or do you mean anti terrorism Laws? I understand that it is an offence to take pictures that would assist in a terrorist attack. It would seem that some police officers have been over-zealous in using that act to prevent photographers taking pictures of buildings, police and armed forces. However, for those who resent the HRA, one might be careful what they wish for.

QUOTE (Roost @ Jul 1 2010, 08:54 PM) Over zealous or under zealous GMR? On one thread they do too much, on another too little. Come on son, which is it??! Or are you just happy police bashing no matter what the subject or actions?
Basically too critical and not enough action. I think we are critical when it is necessary and complimentary when need be (of course when that day comes we'll put the bunting out and have street parties ).

QUOTE (Rosewinelover @ Jul 1 2010, 11:27 AM) Object all you like, I do think your ignorant to think that. Of course people will disagree with me, wouldn't be nothing to discuss if we all thought the same. Like I said, I know people do drink all day but not everyone. Giving food vouchers instead of money effects everybody in the catergory. Again, I ask you if you were on benefits for whatever reason (you lost your home, job, family broke up etc) and you were told YOU were now receiveing food vouchers because of certain piss heads about - i'm sure you would feel victimised. CONFUSED so you think it is okay for these people to be out drinking all day purchasing their booze "probably" with benefits and being abusive to passers by and not receive food vouchers in case they feel victimised BUTQUOTE (Rosewinelover @ Jul 1 2010, 08:57 PM) A law against prisoners being able to play the lottery, making ridiculous personal injury claims, and plastic surgery on the nhs (non medical) you don't think it is okay for prisoners to be allowed to play the lottery??? Bit of a double edged sword there..QUOTE (Rosewinelover @ Jul 1 2010, 11:13 AM) Not all the people your referring to are 'down and out's. I think it is ignorant to tar everyone with the same brush. How would you feel if you were trying your best to sort your life out, was not drinking on the streets, struggling on what the government give you, to be then told you were having food vouchers. Yes, some people do abuse the system and drink all day - what else can they do if society has let them down. It is only a small minority who just buy booze, and we should be trying to solve the problem not scrutinising everyone. "I think it is ignorant to tar everyone with the same brush" - people in prison are not all in there for comitting the same crime so aren't you doing exactly that with your brush.....

No, I don't think it is okay for them to do that, but I don't think the answer is the reasons I quoted. I personally have never been abbused by them. I should of explained myself clearer - when I meant prisoners in my mind I meant peados/rapists/lifers for serious crimes. So no,I do not think they should be able to play the lottery and win loads of money (like Iorworth Hoare did, convicted of sex crimes) and I do not think they should be allowed free plastic surgery on the NHS
