Is there a gap in the market for a type of restaurant or take-away in Newbury that isn't currently catered for (pun intended).

What's Turkish like?

My choice would be Mexican.

A fusion of east & west. Lahmacun which is like pizza, Börek, like little pasties, stuffed vine leaves, Meze, Pilaf rice dishes, etc etc

Sounds nice.

Your average kebab van will actually do half decent traditional Turkish food if you ask them, so I'm told, if they have the ingredients and facilities to cook it. I've never tried it, as I don't generally eat from them but I know people who have.

They don't advertise it because most people just want a donner or a burger.

There used to be a Mexican in the same complex as the bowling lanes in Lower Way. I ate there once - it was pretty dire as I remember.

Can't see there being much call for a vegetarian restaurant around here, but we go to a great veggie curry house in Bradford. It came second on Ramsay's Best Restaurant, and he hates veggies so you never know!

As my wife is a veggie and I'm not I'd like to see more veggie variety on menus - she's sick of mushroom stroganov.
