Does anyone know EXACTLY what is happening with the Woolworths store? It has been closed now for almost a year and there is still no sign of life.

It is a real eye-sore now and looks awfully downmarket.

Who is the new tenant for the site? When will they move in? Loads of romuors on this but no substance.

Doesn't bode well for the 2 new developments that will be looking for tenants soon does it?

Of for prospective tenants of the High-street, if business are holding out for the Parkway blight.

Not just Newbury, there are Woolworths stores standing empty all over Britain, thought how sad the high class looking one in Haslemere (naturally) appeared the other day. A onetime great icon gone, finished forever.

There has been a lot of rumours who will take it over. I hope somebody good will take it over soon.

Is there any progress by the new tenant?

It's gone very quiet and cagey again.

Just walked past Woolies half the window is covered in blue plastic and there seems to be workmen in there pulling the ceiling down with a construction company sign in the window?!

Perhaps it will house the replacement for Northcroft. At least that would solve the parking issue! rolleyes.gif
