Looks like I'll have to wait or come back at a time when the topic title might resemble the content! rolleyes.gif

Very true, it seems to have been taken over by a few that have a chip on their shoulder about taxes, or law and order.

Sadly, 'twas ever thus Iommi.

If you had read the postings of some of these characters on previous forums, you would see a definite pattern. Another Newbury forum got shut down for that very reason.

Good, innit sad.gif

You don't think that taxes or law and order are burning issues for a great many people then?
Just those with "chips on their shoulder"?

I think people like to blow off steam about both subjects as they probably know there's little they can do about either. Can't say that I often think about law and order, certainly not a burning issue for me, even going round Sarff London I never feel particularly threatened, but when I see that it's going to cost me 77 quids to renew my passport, that leaves me feeling a little choked, I must confess.

Not enough for a disproportionate amount threads to be turned into a rant about them.

That's why Internet forums are never taken seriously by those in power / authority or whatever you want to call it, the "crying wolf" factor.

You have a reasonable point there but I don't think it will change.

Lets face it people like to have a place to "blow off steam"

Do you think the letters pages of the "NWN" or national newspapers are any different?

Yes all very true, and the letters pages are probably not that different though they do lack the immediacy of debate you see on a message board and as such perhaps don't get as heated.

That's true, but the NWN can remove posts from here if they wish.

Thought I would ask this question on this thread as it seemed the most appropriate.

Does anyone know why Google.com is continually on line monitoring this forum?

They monitor most forums/ new sites so that they can send information back so when we Google it will come up. You will also see yahoo and other search engines on here doing the same.
