I've got a nest one, part of my security system. Not bad but not perfect, sometimes the delivery guy rings but by the time the notification comes through he's already gone. Plus using the cloud starts to mount up when you link all your cameras and security system. Something to bare in mind.

Don't you need friends to warrant having a doorbell? Why not put something in your OP that gives us a clue. you're the one asking for advice!

Except of course I have, some say it's the second coming, others say it's rubbish. I was reaching out to a local base to see if anyone here had tried them and apart from JSC it would appear no one has so that's my question answered. You really need to get up to speed on this whole tech thing you know.

Would hardly consider a doorbell cutting edge, and the phrase ring doorbell is an action as well as a brand name. And you haven't put a link or even mentioned it in your op. I don't come on this forum much, I forget how old and unable some of you are

Again, it's the title, ring doorbells are or at least should be if you have any interest in the internet of everything a very well known security device, the fact that you appeared not to know this indicates that you're not as clever as you tell some of the elderly whom you bully. You really do come across more and more like a total dingus. But tell me, or rather advise me please, as you're the forum computer expert, I'm putting together a new rig, what would you go with? Coffee lake? Or AMD 2000? And why. Note it's primary use will be gaming so take that into consideration. Also if I'm doing an oc, which I will, which mobo would you go for?

Off topic I know but as good a place to ask the question as some contributors seem to be more au fait than I with the social media maelstrom. If I post pornographic material depicting a minor then it is safe to assume I will be up before the beak by morning but why can't the same criteria be applied to the abhorrent content depicted in this news bulletin?
Like I said I do not know how internet content works but surely someone can police it? And I do not accept the **** about freedom of speech as that won't wash. angry.gif

An interesting point Sir Will. Unfortunately, with trillions of posts the internet is impossible to police. You can build algorithms to pick up on key words or phrases. But the said algorithm is only as knowledgeable as the person or persons programming. The yoof of every generation have a language that changes and unless you have undercover 14 year olds reporting on said changes you won't succeed. And the genie is out of the bottle. The internet is both a force for good and evil, and is a reflection of humankind, for better, or worse.

Fair comment. Guess it is humans that need to change not the technology they have created. Thank you for the insight anyway.

If it's in the title then it should be capitalised. I'd advise buying one, I think it will blow your mind.
