Can we do nothing ourselves?

We are told that it was best to let a French firm build our next generation of nuclear power stations, because these are very dangerous and therefore need a firm with great expertise in its home market to do the job.

We are now told that its best to let a French firm start 'fracking', because the public see this as very dangerous and therefore we need a firm who wants to build experience to work in its home market to do the job.

Both firms, one actually nationalised are head-quartered in France, which is said to be an economic basket case!

So Mr Cameron, these jobs we are busy creating are really top quality aren't they?

Couldn't agree more OTE.
Bit like the railways, very few TOC's are British owned and very few trains / locomotives are British built.

Cracking is quite simple really, no dangers at all. Just drill a hole, pump in so do water and 'a few chemicals' then out comes masses of gas. Great.

Just Google something like 'chemicals used in Fracking' and have a quick look.....

Drink of water anyone?

I do not know much about fracking.
I do know I don't want a bunch of Frenchies being given run of our nations land.
The government never give money out, in a time of HEAVY cut backs what must be going on behind closed doors for them to want to PAY councils money..

It's probably just so they can get their towels on the nearest beach before the rest of us!
