I'm not only inconveniencing myself, I might hope that if enough other people did the same then it would put pressure on Tesco to address what for me is a significant issue, but if the only result is that I inconvenience myself then that's the cost of my conscience.

I agree Simon.
Retailers need you, not the other way round!
If I get bad service from a retailer then I simply take my custom elsewhere.
For example, I rarely now go into Motorists Discount Centre which I used to use regularly. The staff they now have in there are surly and rude!
It is what competition is all about.

It is what competition is all about.

It's awkward because I like Tesco and find it convenient, but yes, there are a couple of shops in Newbury which I've found to be rude or strange or something and won't trouble with my custom again. On the flip side there are some shops (John Lewis is one, Toomers another) which I've found to be so helpful and polite that I'll shop there in preference even if I could find a similar thing elsewhere cheaper because that quality of service is worth a lot.
