This going to keep bugging me unless i say something. Parts if this story are wrong. - 'Occupants of a burning Newbury house manage to escape without serious injury'.
There was no one in the house at the time of the fire, because the person that lived in the house had to be called by friends.
- 'more than an hour to extinguish the flames'.
It didn't take an hour to put out it took about half an hour, this fire was just up the road from where i live, & i was stood watching(i know you shouldn't really).
- 'just before 10pm'.
It wasn't just before 10pm it was more like 10:30pm.
The NWN should really learn to get things right! That my rant!

On a more serious note, why have they let the suspect out on bail if they think he is capable of committing such a dreadful act?

QUOTE (ossy1 @ Sep 14 2009, 02:57 PM) because there is no other option to bail someone when at an early stage of an investigation there is insufficient evidence to charge. Right or wrong thats the way the law stands.
Imagine keeping people in whilst the enquires continue........ Oh yes the terror laws have that and look at the fuss that created.......... Yes, I know and understand but it seems wrong to allow someone who may do this again whilst on bail to go free. How often have you heard of re-offending while the criminal is on bail. It seems the justice system is happy to put the general public at risk rather that risk offending the rights of the criminal. This sort of thing is driving a wedge between the law abiding citizen and the Justice system in this Country.

There was no one in the house at the time of the fire, because the person that lived in the house had to be called by friends. It doesn't say that the occupant was the resident, could it have been friends/guests in the house
- 'more than an hour to extinguish the flames'.
It didn't take an hour to put out it took about half an hour, this fire was just up the road from where i live, & i was stood watching(i know you shouldn't really). An hour from when though, could have taken half an hour to get the engines there and up and running
- 'just before 10pm'.
It wasn't just before 10pm it was more like 10:30pm. Oh come on, that's pedantic, it's a news report not a minute by minute account! The NWN should really learn to get things right! That my rant!

And yes, I do realise that you quite rightly said sorry afterwards.
