Why is there an article on the Newbury Today website every single time there's a fire?

It's not every time there's a fire.
Also it was across the road from the newly opened Aldi.
Thus making it news.

Perhaps they're quite easy to report, as the RBFRS issues all the details as a press release or similar?

I wonder if its because Newbury Today is provided by Newbury's local newspaper and this may be considered, by some, to be local news. Our local news editor seems to thinks this is a higher priority in news terms locally than floods in Newlyn, more horsemeat found in Lancashire, or the Fyfe pet sitter who has been banned from keeping animals. Whatever next, they'll be reporting that local people have been fined for breaching traffic regulations soon! laugh.gif

I think you'll find that the NWN call RBFRS almost daily & ask 'anything juicy last shift?'
