Not that it seems to be getting much publicity locally, but London Welsh will be playing London Scottish this weekend at Monks Lane in their first clash against each other in the British & Irish Cup match. Kick off at 2.30pm on Saturday

Newbury are playing away at Windsor, so many of the old faithful supporters will be away. But as London Irish are playing on Friday night there's no excuse not to turn up at Monks Lane and watch Championship level rugby again without paying through the nose Madjeski Stadium prices if you're just a casual follower of the game.. Entry £10

(and before you ask, London Welsh have decided that holding this match at the Kassam Stadium where they're now based did not make economic sense and so have chosen Newbury to 'expand their support base in the Oxford area')

I have several excuses
1. Rugby is boring

2. £10 is too much to go along to the local rugby club, regardless of who is playing, Thatcham Town are £7 which is cheaper but probably still too much!

3. Neither are local teams, you should be drumming up support for Newbury!

To be fair, NRFC benefit from any revenue they might gain. The problem they have up their at the moment is a poor selection of ale.
