I see yesterday that Govn't intending to see whether we should have another trial of permanent summer time; this time for 3 years.
However, the various individual "Governents/Assemblies" of UK will all have to agree.

Scots have long been hostile to this, and take every opportunity to stick their oar into
any UK Government proposal that doesn't benefit them so consultation is waste of time;
seems to me to be another PR stunt.

Scots may well be independent soon, so no reason they shouldn't be on separate time zone, and would suit the Nationalists!

Iceland keeps the same time all year round (UTC -1) and they are much further north than Scotland.

Spare a thought for the people of Transnistria:
QUOTE
Clocks in Transnistria will be moved back by one hour when daylight saving time (DST) ends in Europe on Sunday, October 30, 2011. timeanddate.com recently reported that Transnistria would stay on DST, but Transnistria’s leader Igor Smirnov has changed his mind according to local media reports.

I thought the plan was to adopt European time ie 1 hour ahead of our current time GMT+1 in the winter and GMT+2 in the summer - not year round BST.

I leant something from watching lots of action movies;

you can't change time. Just leave it as it is. It's fine..............
