It seem the skate park is not in the same location as was originally shown. I wonder if this is in preparation for the controversial pavilion?

I noticed this today as I went past. Either the skate park is going to be over twice the size, or the location has moved. I wouldn't say it's because of the pavilion proposal though, although let's see where the new play park goes!!!

Then isn't that in breach of the planning permission?

Maybe it is so the existing ramps can be kept open till the new bowls are complete.

Moving the skateboard thingy north leaves space for the play area to also move north and make way for the pavilion.

I guess NTC didn't have a lot of choice but to allow for the pavilion - it would be insane to build the skateboard stuff only to have to demolish and rebuild when WBC decide we have to have the pavilion. It's not as if NTC will have much say in the pavilion decision (about as much as they did over the recent Parkway planning decision).

It looks to me like what is actually being built at the moment is may well turn out to be the builders compound rather than the skatepark itself....

I hope that is what it is. That was my first thought, but why would they be digging?
