Welcome to Newburytoday.co.uk’s forum. After a month of operation, we have introduced some important changes to how the forum operates.

From today, anyone who has registered will be able to post their thoughts and views straight on to the new forum. Any content posted will still be moderated but this will take place after publication.
If any posted material does not conform to our new terms and conditions (new and existing members please see below), it will be removed.

We are hopeful that the standard of debate which has so far been excellent will continue as will the wide range of issues being aired and the cross-section of people taking part.

Any personal abuse of either forum members or of other members of the wider community will not be tolerated and will be removed and the author either warned or barred from using the forum.
We sincerely hope this will not be necessary and that existing and new forum members will continue to debate local and national issues rigorously and with good humour.

Glad to see members have immediate access to the forum; as opposed to the delay service you had before hand so that admin could check them out.

Well, this clearly isn't happening any more if it ever did in the first place.

Though I agree in essence, if we banned those who are pretty clueless in the art of debate there would be very few contributors. Now if we had evidence on the other hand that the petty name calling is preventing a more "adult" forum membership then I for one would welcome a robust approach.

This forum is hanging on by a thread. (Ha, did you see what I did there?) Any of that censorship nonsense, bar threats etc, will be the death knell.

It's hanging on by a thread probably because of all the abuse and bullying. Why would anyone want to join in with a group of no more than a dozen middle aged men squabbling over the most trivial of issues, with no debating skills and f.uck all in the way of intelligent or evidenced debate? It's just a group of angry people who don't know why they are angry lashing out!
