QUOTE (Biker1 @ Aug 10 2009, 08:40 PM) There is no volume or body language on this site as would be present say in the pub in a group conversation. Yes there is, volume of posts by each person.

QUOTE (regor @ Aug 10 2009, 09:09 PM) There are something over 250 registered members of this forum.
On a typical day I doubt if more that 30 or 40 post any comments at all. In fact if you look at the membership details the vast majority made just a handful of posts and were never heard of again.
Now why is that do we suppose?
Bored? Did not find the debates interesting? Just lost interest?
Or did they (heaven forfend) come to the conclusion that it was a very limited forum for a handful of people who were on the thing all day, every day, every topic?
If any of these missing (silent) members are still reading these posts it would be nice to hear from them as to why they do not write any more.
AND WELCOME THEM BACK. Whether certain people are writing all the time it shouldn’t stop others from posting or giving their point of view. As one member on here said that she didn’t post regularly but enjoyed reading the posts; she found them entertaining. I presume that some people felt that on a particular subject they had to respond and once they’ve got it off their chest they thought that was it. Of course you are not going to please everybody. The point of users thread was to see how people responded to limiting the amount of posts one posts. That idea would be an impossibility and as members had said; they wouldn’t agree to it anyway. Other members on here didn’t have a problem with the amount people post; apart from User. At the end of the day you will never please everybody. I run or co-run a couple of forums and we try to please everybody; it doesn’t work and some members leave because of other members ways. All you can do is set ground rules and providing everybody obeys them then that is it.

QUOTE (Strafin @ Aug 10 2009, 09:27 PM) Well if you think that not contributing is a good idea I'll start the ball rolling by not commenting on this thread again. It's ludicrous to suggest that by censoring people you are allowing a wider debate. User 23 why don't you do the same, in fact how come you've suddenly popped up again anyway? Have you upset everyone else so much on the other forums that no-one wants to engage with your idiocy anymore? Don't reply though, you might drown someone out. Idiot. How rude.

This is what he does; pees people off. He tries to get under peoples skin. He then gets banned, but always manages to come back.

It is his type of posting that stops people like me from joining in. I can put up with constructive debate, even a bit of banter that goes off topic, but this unnecessary attacking over petty issues does my head in. So my message to User23 is, I don't have a problem with certain members posting a lot, but I do have a problem with posters like you coming on just to cause trouble.
