Have heard that there is going to be some sort of riot/ violence in Newbury town center tonight at 6pm.

Apparently the information has come from Thames Valley Police & are telling people to stay away from the area!

Time to form a posse me thinks in the absence of a local Chapter of Guardian Angels.
Hopefully any miscreants will be easily identified by the town's new HD CCTV dry.gif

Just arrived back from town, no trouble at all, quite a few coppers walking the beat, and several driving about as well. Apart from that it just looked normal. According to the NWN the police have not advised any business to shut, that is their own choice.

Just the rumour mill in overdrive. The closest thing to trouble were groups of twelve year olds walking the street looking for the so called riots. We ought to name and shame those who are saying they are going to cause problems, didn't a kid in Scotland get arrested for incitement???

Does this include people in this thread spreading rumours?

The ultimate authority then! I apologise if my information was wrong... it probably is. I mean, why would a riot or its symptoms break out in Newbury, of all places!?

Incidentally, the web cam is offline so we can't check the market place!
