Does anybody ever listen to the 2TenFM replacement Heart FM? what are your views? I sometimes flick between stations to find something decent on and whenever that flick gets to Heart FM it moves on to the next pretty station much instantly. I even believe Kick FM is better and that is saying something. I don't understand the stations logic to play pretty much tracks from the 80's and 90's all the time, this must only be hitting a very small market. I grew up listening to 80's and 90's music but that doesn't mean I still want to listen to it all the time now. And they are not even playing the decent music from that time, they are just playing the cheesey tracks.

It's because they are cheap tracks to play for them

I like a bit of cheese now and again, but have tuned into a different station now as Heart FM is now basically just repeats its self on a 3 hourly basis. I think they just have one greatest hits of the 80's and 90's cd on repeat with a few (very badly made) adverts in between.

Kick FM is the same, and radio 1 is only good during the day.

I have given up on the radio and got myself and iPOD adapter for the car

Totally agree about radio 1 and also am looking to treat myself to an iPod adapter for the car.

BBC 6 Music for me.

It's only available on line or digitally though.

Heart isn't even local any more, most of the programs come from London.

Who cares.

It is and always will be unimaginative, bland and utter sheeeeite!

Their idea of modern is M People, Simply Red and Gloria bleedin' Estefan.

No variety, no class!

Who you angry at dude?

A bit of R2 is fine. Check out Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Macconie ( or is it Andrew Collins ) mid evenings weekdays for example.

Heart is unbearably tedious.

Kick is better. We should be grateful we still have it - so many other small scale radio stations are closing (e.g. Brunel in Swindon).

But why not get yourself a WiFi Internet radio or 3G phone and try these out:

Radio2XS

Radio Caroline

SomaFM

Caroline is also on Sky channel 0199.

Happy listening!

Radio 2 is fantastic.

03:00 - 06:00 - The Dark Lord
06:00 - 07:30 - Bunty
07:30 - 09:30 - The Togmeister with Deadly, Boggy and the Totty from Sploty
09:30 - 12:00 - Baldie Bruce
12:00 - 14:00 - Jezza
14:00 - 17:00 - SWITA
17:00 - 19:00 - The Ginger Whinger
19:00 - A selection of other great programmes.

Five Live is my favourite, but I do go for a bit of Radio2 sometimes. I used to like radio 1 but can't stand Jo Wiley, so always switched off at ten anyway. I understand she is being moved though. Back to the OP, I think heart is rubbish, Kick FM is good for a local station, and they do get involved in local evets which I think is great.

Re the network formerly known as the Light Programme:

14:00 - 17:00 - SWITA

You mean SWITARITM (SWITM Recorded In The Morning). That's why there are no mistakes. His Sunday show is usually recorded on a weekday afternoon.

Bit of a Home Service fan myself...

I used to listen to 2Ten FM but i dont anymore as i find it boring.

I like to have the radio on in the background whilst i cook, anything from music to chat, i listen to Radio 2 but also have been known to listen to Radio 4 (ssshhhh). I have an ipod adapter for the car for when i am alone in the car.

to be quite honest, i really dont like Heart FM!

2ten was a great little radio show that was only for berks, but heart has different stations round england. so im guessing they have taken over other radio stations too.

Id rather have no radio on than listen to Heart. Their jingles are far too cheesy

Yes, and much of there programming is networked across all their stations.

By the way 2-Ten FM and now Heart is transmitted from Hampshire (well, it is on 102.9) and their licence also covers North Hampshire.
