My personal hope is Obama wins. I think he has a charismatic quality and a "human" side that Mitt Romney totally lacks. In addition I think for the modern age, Obama is much more "down with the kids" and as 1920s as it sounds, it's good to have a person that people can look up to from impoverished societies to improve their lifes. smile.gif

I have voted that Obama will win because the polls show them to be very close and he has the advantage of being the incumbent.

Too few of us have a scoobie about American life or politics to judge who would be the better President. Unless we think they have cracked it and have a good one lined up? In that case maybe we should all go for their system?
Look at how much money the candidates spend in order to get elected. Their system is far more elitist than ours.

Leave them to elect their man and hope our Government can work with whoever gets the nod, without becoming the type of sycophant Blair was

I don't know what happened to my post. Anyway, never mind the US - it will be a nightmare scenario for the rest of the world if another war-mongering Republican gets in.

And Romney has promised to repeal Obama's health care legislation. If you're sick and haven't got a card with enough credit, then just crawl away and die.

An election? blimey they kept that quiet. Probably just as well or our news would just be full of it day after day....

Americans seem to have the choice between a 'better' future and a 'brighter' future.

It only really amounts to which accent we hear announcing the bombing of Iran.

Bombing of Iran. Won't Israel be doing that and the Americans giving it a Tut Tut, never mind?

Don't they get cold over there. Shirtsleeves an' all.
I've got a vest, a shirt, a big jumper, and a fleece, with a rug waiting to watch their antics.

Politics in USA turns me cold.

Scratch away at the surface and they're both the same and have the same business puppeteers hands shoved up their rear ends operating their mouths, eyes and hands..... He also has an odd dog whistle speech impediment caused by odd fitting dentures which I find annoying.... Mind you, if he brings in his healthcare bill he can get them sorted for free.... All the signs are that Obama will win - but the 'popular' vote will be close (though polls are suggesting Obama's lead has grown in the last day or so). Obama's advantage is that his vote is more effective at gathering electoral college votes - in the swing states. He could even win with fewer votes than Romney.

I certainly hope he wins - Romney and Ryan are a scary pair, their economics make Osborne look like a communist. Reports are that Cameron is hoping for an Obama win - if true it says a lot about Romney.

I think Obama might just scrape through, with the Upper House Republican, and the Lower House Democrat

Interesting - I have always thought of the Senate as the upper house.

I don't know much about American politics but they say that Obama's victory would be better for the world. I hope that will be the case. Romeny seems to be too far right.
