The old Accessories shop and Clark's shoe shop are being converted in to a Cotes Restaurant.

Does not look like a place one would dine and why is their menu part in French and part English?

How many more restaurants can Newbury take?

Why would it not be a place one would dine?

The Tudor Cafe becomes a cafe again, I'd say it was good news. The menu looks okay, nothing special, typical chain restaurant stuff - so a bit too like the others in town, but I'll give it a go.

My biggest worry is that they seem to be too keen on striped awnings and bland all look alike interiors - I hope they don't mess up one of Newbury's oldest buildings too much.

Yes, I can't see what's wrong with the business proposition. OK we have lots if restaurants - better that than charity outlets or worse boarded windows!

(They could have kept the historic theme though, even as a French restaurant, called it the St Joan...'how would you like your stake...)

As many as the market can support...

One does prefer simpler fare when dining and I do like cider and not cidre smile.gif

There are a number of other eateries planned like Bill Restaurant (market place), another un-named restaurant in the Kennet Centre and I think there's a take-away going in next to Pink Planet games.

If they survive then good luck to them.

I was on a date at Cote in Islington, this Monday
We went to see "Boyhood" after, which was a bit long for us seniors.

I think it is a good chain for fairly good food.
It is part owned by Richard Caring, who might have once been father-in-law to
my beloved daughter.

I do.
The couple went through a pretty happy time. From about 15 to 21.
I would have had to sell my 1st and 2nd home to pay for the reception.
