Sad.

I have a photo of him with my Mum taken in the 1970's - he in his "trademark" tracksuit and holding a big cigar. A real character.

RIP

Ignore user23, he has an almost autistic attitude to innocent posts like this thread has. He can be an utter tool sometimes.

He was somebody we grew up with. Whether that be in the 60s or 70s or even 80s.

Was an innocent question as to what the Newbury connection was, this being "Newbury News".

Think you might have described yourself in this matter.

As we they have tried to silence the forum from the very latest news concerning Newbury then reverting to news that does not concern Newbury must be all that is left! rolleyes.gif

It doesn't matter. I was just enquiring what the Newbury connection was, it being posted as an item of Newbury News.

You shouldn't get so hung up on these things.

True. What's the connection with Newbury though?

The connection to Newbury is that people in Newbury are interested in him and other national worldly news. Are you suggesting that people in newbury are so shallow that anything outside these boarders either doesn't, or shouldn't exist; or we shouldn't care or shouldn't talk about them?

These boards are forum boards for people in Newbury to discuss whatever they want; and that as been the way since these boards were first formed.

Not everybody is as shallow as you User23.

I didn't say it shouldn't be discussed, I asked what the connection with Newbury was, this being posted as Newbury News.

Well, that is a good point, however, I saw it in a Newbury paper (i.e. a paper bought in Newbury) so I suppose that is the connection. And of course if NWN covers it then that cements it. wink.gif
