QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Dec 22 2020, 07:57 PM) Are you sure? Still seems to be a couple of inhabitants expressing the voice of dissent. Maybe if we grovelled to that nice Monsieur Macron he would still let us rejoin his little club, subject to a little ridicule and a lot of euros, then everyone will be happy. Well apart from the majority of the British public who openly told the Brussels bullies to eff off. When it is reformed (the EU) it might be worth taking another look. Until then... |

QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Dec 20 2020, 03:41 PM) On a not dissimilar theme Royal Mail has been awarded a contract to distribute and collect Covid19 test kits. So what? I hear you cry as that's what they do, don't they. Well yes but this "nice little earner" is worth a mouth watering 500 million. If I was a still working full time I think I would be checking the gas oven by now. It's ok Sir Will. We now live on #plagueisland |

QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Dec 20 2020, 09:51 AM) So now we are "enjoying" the privilege of being in Tier 4. So devastating is this virus that Whitty and the Wanders, (the present day pied pipers), are so concerned of people are dropping dead in the streets they have to introduce a new level of control. Mutation of the virus they scream. Well most viruses do this, it is part of their construction.
Quick straw poll of those who care to read this; how many people do you know who have actually been hospitalised, or worse, over the last month? I am expecting a figure of between 1 and 3 depending on the total number of individuals you actually know Now take away the over 70's, (includes me), those with underlying problems and I think the figure will be at a level you may start to question the current approach. I will try to adhere to the present guidelines, (if I could understand them), but I do worry for our future with such individuals in charge. 0 and 0 Sir Will, and hospitals are at 85% capacity (95% this time last year)...makes you think something else is going on... meanwhile..hast du deine papier?

QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Dec 17 2020, 08:49 PM) Maybe, just maybe the increase in positive test results has more to do with an increase in testing as opposed to an increase in infection? Has the hospitalisation rate increased? Certainly the death numbers are not rising or the press would be screaming from the pulpit. Considering that seasonal influenza is also a "Corona" virus and it has already been established that our testing system is anything but "world beating", (Boris speak), I wonder how muddy the water is.
Still with xmas cancelled it will save telling the carol singers to bugger off. The testing has been pretty consistent for the last few months so that would suggest a big spike in this area. If they test all the kids (which they plan to do) cases will then rocket!! As for Xmas. I just feel sorry for the old folk. No one else. |

QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Dec 16 2020, 03:03 PM) If the vaccination rate is anything like the rest of this debacle then I can see you being offered it in April 2028. (Yes twenty eight!) Vaccination good.....Waiting months to receive it, not so good. We will all be dead by then of mutant ninja Corona 2020. https://www.newburytoday.co.uk/news/coronav...e-increase.htmlSpreading like wildfire in Newbury. And St Barts is still.open. WTF? |

QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Nov 25 2020, 12:51 PM) Where are all the "not my President riots?" Because the MSM narrative is total bollocks. Has been for years. President Harris will be interesting..I can see a flight of wealth and brains from the USA over the next few years... |

QUOTE (newres @ Nov 1 2020, 03:24 PM) Imho, what the country needs next time is an electoral pact to deliver PR. We shouldn’t have to put an with another extreme government (left or right). Will never happen. Neither of the 2 main parties want to be joined at the hip with the equivalent of a Jo Swinson. I'm not against it. Just saying it will never pass in Parliament. Still...locked down till March soon (with a week break at xmas), Donald Trunp reelected with a minority vote and a debt of 3 trillion of WW2 proportions that will kill hundreds of thousands of the next generation prematurely. What's not to like?🙄 |

QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Sep 25 2020, 12:26 PM) A common sense approach to the issue has been overwritten by those who believe that modern technology is the answer to EVERYTHING let alone this little exercise. Little doubt in some sectors of society this can be a useful tool, but as the case with any implement, it is only as good as it's weakest part. And as far as I can ascertain it has completely overlooked that section that are the most vulnerable; the elderly. There are countless thousands of pensioners who do not own a mobile phone, let alone a "smart" one and have no wish too, assuming they could afford one. As happened at the start of this pandemic they have once again been thrown "under the bus" when it comes to protecting them. The rise in infection may now be with the younger demographic but it is still the elderly that are succumbing. But of course they are the right wing, brexit loving, white supremacy bigots that society could well do without. It's just Logans Run by Stealth. Get on the Carousel, Sir Will. Greenest thing to do would be to kill 5 or 6 billion. 👍 |

QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Sep 11 2020, 10:08 AM) I agree that if the world was spherical at least some would fall off it. All the Covid Marshall jobs seem to finish at 1730. The only people being cautioned will be old biddies. Guess they are not keen on enforcing social distancing outside Wetherspoons on a Friday night.. |
