It would take me three weeks to almost fill my ordinary bin, whereas this time of year I could fill my green bin the day after collection. And no, I don't have a large garden.

Is there a case for revising the collections in the Summer?

What you should do, what most people do, is fill up your ordinary bin with grass and leafs... and then put something on top. Or better still put them in bags and then put them in the black bin once your green bin is full. I did ask and I was told that they would not be revising their collection schedules.

I think I'd rather go up to the tip than do something like that.

Still, as it stands, it gives me a good excuse to be lazy in the garden department smile.gif

if you don't you'll probably be the only one; as I don't know a person that doesn't do that. But you might like the drive. Happy gardening. laugh.gif

While we're on about bins, can I ask the person who schedules bin collections not to put the wagons on main roads heading into town during peak travel time. It's as if they don't want us to drive into town!! Duh!

I did check with the council over this and was told "You'll have to be patient as they can only do it when they can." In other words; no. We have the same problem down our way; if they are then cars will have to wait or take an alternative route.

That is ok if you've got a woman to do it for you. I've only got a dog.

Whe would you like them to do it? 9 in the morning, just as the school run finishes? 10AM, as those doing the school run go out to do daily chores? 12 noon, as the lunch time traffic gets moving? etc. etc. etc.

What does annoy me is drivers verbally abusing the workers because they are in the way. angry.gif Funny how they don't get out and do it toe-to-toe?

That'll be when the post-schhol run chores traffic heads home to do the morning playschool run.

I'd like mine done at 6 in the morning when I'm on night.

Which is when the night shift are off home. Not to mention the dust-carts waking people up in the morning. wink.gif

We could meet on the corner where unused shops are gathering dust by an unlit over head lamppost and do the deal anonymously. That shouldn't contravene NewburyTodays's forum regulations; i.e. bring it into disrepute. You never know; some of them may join the little huddle and barter for the tickets.... in the process you could lose out. laugh.gif wink.gif
