I was watching the Great Train Robbers spotting all the railway inaccuracies!
I wish sometimes I wasn't quite so knowledgeable on the subject so I could concentrate on the plot!

you should write a very long post & demand the resignation of the scriptwriters. I mean, if thay can't get easily verifyable things like how trains work right how can the viewer have any faith in the accuracy of anything else they have written?

I happens all the time on television and films.
I would be posting and demanding all the time!
(I could do that as it is 3 1/2 months 'til the biking starts again. , I have the time)

The best one was when the train they were observing earlier on went past the signal and it stayed green!

There was a good one in Heartbeat a while ago when they had just been watching the moon landing in 1969 yes?
They then went to the railway station a caught a steam train!
Steam finished in 1968 and was scarce in that year too!
There are hundreds of them but I'm sure folks wont want a long post from me!

Give them their due, they had the right number on the locomotive................but it was the wrong type!!

Just like our council, film makers do things that are designed to beguile you, but unfortunately some of the more observant ones will notice things like that. It often what separates a poor low budget film from a good one, but like with a council, budget is no guarantee of quality!

Do you mean watching Moto GP on TV, or actually getting back out on your bike when the weather improves !
When ever I watch Heartbeat & hear the sound of the old British twin bikes I wish I still had mine ( showing my age !!!!! ).

I had the very first Honda CB92 in Newbury, purchased from Craven Motors in 1963. A 125cc twin cylinder ohc four stroke that would rev to 10,500 rpm & do nearly 80 mph. Peter Holt (from Speedway Motors down the road ) said ''bloody jap rubbish it will never last'' !!!!!!!!!!

I had a Matchless 350 in the days when you could ride one on a provisional licence. Then they changed the law, and two days before my test was booked, my licence expired and they wouldn't grant me an extension. So I never did take my m/c test in the end.

Peter Hoult, yes I remember him and his shop well.
Helped me out on many an occasion.
I remember having envious eyes on a purple! Triumph Daytona 500 in Jim Pink's in London Road.
£495, way beyond my finances!

Jim Pink sold Suzuki two strokes (mid 70s) I seem to remember.

Regarding Jim Pinks, I part exchanged my 125 Honda for a 250 Yamaha YDS3 at his shop in Wallingford shortly before he came to Newbury.
Both bikes are quite rare now, the little Honda's can fetch in excess of £8000, ( £199-19s-6p inc p. tax in 1963 ).
