Obviously he isn't all bad, but I had forgotten some of his decisions, not least the council settlement where he abstained from voting (which in this instance is crude way of supporting the motion). It doesn't say, but I bet he supports hunting foxes with hounds too. http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/news/news/17...uents-down.html

He's definitely not all bad - I see him as a remarkable constituency MP.

He always has time to help and an incredible memory for faces/names. In all my (few) dealings with him, he has been courteous and helpful. He does a great deal for schools in the area.

As to his voting record, being 'absent' is a way of rebelling against the party whip in parliamentary conduct.

Having met and dealt with him, I would vote for him regardless of which party he belonged to.

I have had little to do with Richard Benyon MP, but your description could be said of a number of past constituency MPs, including David Rendel. West berkshire councils budget was slashed by 44 percent by central government, Richard Benyon decided not to vote against this because other council's benefitted, he said. I would expect our MP to vote against such measures.

Why does the fox hunting thing irk the hoi polloi so much? Would you rather he was into banger racing and hare coursing?

banger racing? - Yes, fine
hare coursing? - No, certainly not. And that's illegal too.

Yes.

1. Killing animals for fun ("Sport") is wrong.
2. The ritual killing of animals is wrong.

Yup, its cruel and barbaric. But hey! It's cultural differences innit? Kill a fox an the chattering classes go on the rampage. Kill a million sheep by cutting their throats an letting them bleed to death and there's a deafening silence! And we're all eating it, you, (not me, I'm veggie) your kids, your grandkids, all being force fed the stuff just so we can appease the liberal elite.

I quite agree old chap, Franklin in classics would have beaten me black and blue for THAT howler! I find baking powder works well for blood spots, just rub in and leave overnight.

So who do people vote for then? Lib-Dems, which are a waste of space, long with Labour. Whatever you think of Benyon he is the best option.

I particularly enjoyed the picture of Russell Brand, arch anarchist, arch Socialist. The same Russell Brand who lives in a £3 million pound house by the Thames and who has just had a new indoor pool and sauna installed. Don't see too much equality with the masses there.

That will depend on what your political persuasion is and what is important to you. Against my better judgement, I'm inclined to vote Lib Dem simply because of the PM's approach to hunting wildlife with hounds.

The LibDem manifesto says it all, I couldn't do that.

They are actually insulting the electorate with 'free gift' politics. No integrity whatsoever. No mention of tuition fees so we'll do the same with education! Then there's the 'pet safety' bit; we'll introduce laws that already exist to protect your pet Iguwana! Stroll on.

Now, I can see exactly why they want to legalise cannabis, you'd needs to be out of your head to vote for that lot.

That is going to a free vote. I think there are more important things to worry about. Such as; do you want Corbyn or May?
