Windsor's Fire Tender sent to Newbury, whilst our Fire Engines on a job.
Moaners seem to think that their appliance should be just for them.

I presume Newbury's Fire Engines are sent elsewhere by the same token.

I was under the distinct impression that neither Newbury or Windsor had any fire engines of their own. It I my understanding that they all belong to Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service.

Granted, that council tax payers have a precept added for the RBFRS, but that doesn't mean that the local council own them; they are merely the tax collectors.

Or did I blink and miss the return to something like the original system where fire engines belonged to insurance companies and would not tackle fires in uninsured or insured with somebody else properties?
