So, the search engine providers have said 'OK Dave, we'll do what you say old mate', and all is hunky dory.

The problem is, those that have stated loud and clear what they want to happen, have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, as usual.
This is just another ploy for internet control by government. If the issue is as serious as they say, which I agree IS, then why are the NSA and GCHQ not doing the work?

I completely agree.
First it was our file sharing sites
Now it's searching for kiddy porn. (which those who do, do not do so openly, what moron would do that?)

Those of us who are "turned on" to what the Government are doing, we all know... eventually it will be full control. However there are people, myself included, who tunnel all of our (home) web traffic using anonymising services.. Not for malicious purposes, but because I don't want the UK Government telling me what I can and can't look at.

Very good point, and I agree with you. Why should (as usual), the majority be held account for the minority?
