QUOTE (On the edge @ Nov 20 2010, 03:16 PM) Well, whilst its quiet up there, no one would notice them rolling down the hill to the chippy in Turnpike. There's been quite a few cases of a salt and batter-ey there, I hear.

QUOTE (GMR @ Nov 23 2010, 05:28 PM) That is a matter of opinion, but I see where you are coming from as you both are WBC programmed: it must be some initiated test you have to go through before joining. A bit like joining the Masons; you have to tickle each others privates to be accepted. User 23, I keep being told, works for WBC, maybe he/she does, maybe they don't. What I do know is that I do not know all the people who work here. When will you get this into your head oh King of Inevitability?

QUOTE (gel @ Nov 20 2010, 12:21 PM) The new police protection afforded the Middleton girl is by Thames Valley & The Met; seems both forces will now have staff there & vehicles permanently in Bucklebury.
Therefore, whilst local Police cope with heavy cuts, those resources have been cut deeper at expenses of local's protection, bar one individual, who has presumably never paid any Council tax in first place:(
Hmm.. Don't panic, they won't afford this job to the front line staff at Newbury they will be provided by the already exsisting protection team. As someone else said both forces have been protecting the royals for years, nothing new.

As someone else said both forces have been protecting the royals for years, nothing new. In this age of cuts the issue is not who is doing the job, but who is funding it. Will TVP have to increase its spend on royal protection to provide this additional duty? If so, will this impact on its spend on local policing?
