Is this program run by the Labour party? Every morning there is a different report on how the savage tory cuts are affecting the poor people of Britain.

Its putting me off my toast.

At least the postmans been retired off by the Labour Party. He did not really have any fiscal grasp of reality. I wonder if they will be re-making 'The postman always rings twice'? wink.gif

Are you suggesting that the fact that the (necessary) cuts are causing unfortunate job losses in the public sector should be suppressed and not reported as legitimate news?

Just worked out what you meant by the obscure "postman" reference.

I think you have it in that the cuts are neccessary and would have been imposed by any party either encumbent or newly elected and should not be described as "Tory" cuts inferring only the Tory's would have made them.

Yes, it would seem that the Postman has had an unfortunate experience with his Policeman. wink.gif

To me its the manner of the reporting. Today for instance they reported on disabled childrens services being cut by the Tories. Its actually the Councils who are cutting the services and not the Tories due to the cuts made to their budgets made by the Tories. How the Coucncils choose to implement these cuts should be the question being asked not just the quid pro quo stance of the BBC that the cuts to childrens services are inebitible due to the cuts in the budget. They are not inebitible. Cuts could be made elsewhere. This was not reported and is pretty typical. Lazy journalism at best. Politically motivated at worst.

Count yourself lucky that it is only your enjoyment of your toast that this issue is affecting. Many people's morning will be far more stressful or mundane than yours due to these cuts.

I'm sorry Iommi but I work in a Company that has lost 40% of its workforce from what we employed 2 years ago. The cuts were savage and have meant longer and more stressful working days. These cuts were made in the main by the Private sector over 12 months ago. The Public Sector is basically a year or 2 behind the pain that we have already been through. Its not great, its awful but it has to be done. Labour wantes us to continue living in a fools paradise.

I realise that and I agree it makes distressing listening, but to some, your complaint seems rather churlish.

The argument isn't over as to why these cuts have to be so deep and quick either.

So those that made the cuts can revel in the glory of re-building.

A bit like bombing the **** out of a country so your multinationals can make $$$$$ rebuilding the place.

Which will be approximately in the run-up to a general election.

I think the pint was not the cuts themselves or the need for them, but the way they are reported by the left orientated BBC.

Anyway should they not be Coalition cuts not "Tory cuts"

Technically you are right, although it is a Tory majority coalition; a Tory is Prime minister. I doubt though it makes anyone out of work feel any better about it.

Did you vote Tory at the last election by any chance?

And one should not forget that the deficit that made the cuts inevitable was manifested on the Labour watch.

Although preLeham Bros crash, the deficit was less than when they had come to power in '97. Not that any of this is the point of the thread as such.

Quite my point Biker1. We all pay a BBC license fee and as such reporting SHOULD be unbiased. It is without a shadow of a doubt left wing orientated.

Funny how left-wingers claim it's too pro-establishment.
