I thought the town did itself proud yesteday, the atmosphere building up to the arrival of the torch was every bit as exciting as the arrival of the torch itself. For those of you that read these posts and were in any way involved then please except thanks from a grateful resident..well done

Yes it was very good. Enjoyable break - we went down and had a look - lots of quite happy people. My party claiming age related infirmity as the excuse for not offering to help but were certainly impressed by all those that did - thier efforts demonstrably successful and very much appreciated by us old wrinklies.

Americans! Don't you just love 'em? I wonder how Enid Blyton's Famous Five would go down Stateside. But then, I expect she's banned because of Noddy.

I suspect George's father, whilst hidden away in his study, was inventing the enigma machine!

You DO realise that a very large number of the people responsible for the event yesterday work at the hated and slothful organisation known as WBC don't you?

I have no issue with that, they seemed to have done a good job - on the face of it. Mind you, the torch probably had a lot to do with the popularity of the event!

No I hadn't given that much thought - but you are right; so credit where it is due, a great job well done.
