I went that way yesterday for the first time since they updated the road markings. They are a lot clearer, though it still didn't stop some old biddy coming up behind me from the right hand lane.

Actually, I think it would make a lot more sense to change it so that the right hand lane could (properly) go left as well as straight on up the A339N, and keep the left hand lane for traffic going along the A4 towards Hungerford. And paint double white lines between the two lanes up to the point where they divide.

Slow down, leave a space, indicate, and you'd be surprised how you can slip through traffic. Always assuming you know where you want to go and can look to see how to get there......
