Quite like the idea of having a supply of protein living next door, (however it's spelt). rolleyes.gif Fiction has a habit of mirroring fact.

So Catholic priests are told by their hierarchy/bible/teachings to rape little boys? Sorry, but that just plain stupid and I must assume you are stupid to make such a claim.

Pointless having a conversation with you then!

Aisha's age at the time of her marriage is frequently mentioned in Islamic literature. According to Sunni hadith sources, Aisha was six or seven years old when she was married to Muhammad in Mecca. The marriage was consummated after the Hegira to Medina, when she had reached the age of nine or ten years old. Many scholars interpret this to indicate that she reached puberty at this age.For example, Sahih al-Bukhari states that Aisha narrated that "the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old."

I'll refer you back to JSC's post a bit further up. And I'll just assume that you're into that sort of thing as well then to be so defensive.

No, but the hierarchy are more than happy to cover it up and we know that. We also know that the hierarchy have taken part in it. So whilst it might not be in the bible, it is certainly prolific within the church.

The fact that the church sought to cover up these deeds, implicates them in the sorry affair.

The sad reality is that through history the male of the species appears to have considered females to be something for their specific use. Those of a religious persuasion have hidden behind the name of their particular deity in order to justify their behaviour long after society adopted a more civilised approach. The juxtaposition is now that both sides of the divide quote islamic/christian/ toothfairy et al doctrines to point score in some half baked idea that they can change people's beliefs. There are no good religions/bad religions, just good or bad individuals.

Yes, same sort of thing with the Free Tommeh rallies. When a load of racist thugs gather, violence often follows.

It is the base instinct of homo sapien. When the argument appears to be lost then violence kicks in and anarchy ensues. This is neither a right or left wing monopoly, just a bunch, (or larger mob), of bigots who wish to impose their ideology on society.
But, (in the interest of balance), at what point should the meek stand up against injustice even if that means using violence? The rise of the third reich is often cited as the ultimate evil yet initially it was welcomed not only in Germany but the rest of Europe, only falling from grace when the resulting carnage became apparent. Had the allies, (inc China), capitulated in '38 then millions world wide may have not lost their lives but at what cost?
We may abhor violent behavior but it is all we have.

I maintain that. But you are making the point that the holy books don't encourage it. I agree with that also. But I think a lot of people in the church get involved in things that they wouldn't have done otherwise and grooming gangs within the church recruit from and justify it through the religion, therefore I conclude that there are a lot of people who engage in paedophilia through their religion.

Where's your evidence that grooming gangs are connected by the church/synagogue/mosque? Most likely the ones we read about went to the same school, so shall we ban schools? Or ban celebrities, football, scouts etc?

I happen to agree with your views on the existence of God, but that doesn't mean the faiths are the cause of massive ill.

All went to the same school? You're basically being an apologist for pedophilia by suggesting there isn't a problem or a tie.

Youíre assigning a causal link. Thatís the problem. Being a Catholic priest or being a Catholic isnít what made them child abusers. Same as being a scout leader isnít. In both cases thereís evidence of cover ups though.

Similarly the grooming gangs didnít groom because they are Muslims and as far as Iím aware there was no cover up by their mosques.

Basically there is no evidence whatsoever of a causal link. Youíre allowing your prejudice against religion to cloud your reasoning.

I again disagree. I am suggesting that many catholic priests are paedophiles because of their religion. I am suggesting to you that they join the church, and see it happening and over time it becomes normalised. So they end up being the same way. You can't deny that there is a disproportionate amount of it happening in churches and they only exist to control swathes of people and serve no other purpose, I maintain that it's more than a casual link.

Where's your evidence that grooming gangs are connected by the church/synagogue/mosque? Was your question, are you seriously trying to suggest that the widely publicised problems with kiddy fiddling within religious quarters are just conicedence? Doesn't the quoran talk about Mohammeds 6 year old bride?
