Giving the town a bad image eh?
Walking into town the other day from St Johns...weaved my way through the latest road-digging, then through the half-empty Kennet Centre and over the bridge into half-empty Northbrook Street, to be confronted by 6 chuggers, and past Millets where the police were apprehending a shoplifter, then past the spitting chavs at McDs, through the plumes of smokers outside two pubs, before getting to my appointment. The only street-drinking I've spotted recently is from a notorious drunk who I know has a town centre ASBO, but his bright coloured trousers actually brightened up an increasingly shabby, run-out-of-steam town. -------------------- Newbury's #1 ill-informed internet poster

I responded on a previous post about street drinkers but thought I should put my reply here also so sorry if you read it twice.
Fame at last forum members !!!!  Not sure about giving out fixed penalty tickets how are they going to pay for that (I am assuming it a fine rather than a little ticket that says "you are a bad person for drinking in the street if you collect three of these you will be moved off the bench??) . More revenue that will not be collected.
