Our host newspaper reports that residents in the Shaw estate area are complaining about the number of cars parked outside their houses during the day. Apparently the car parkers are thought to be Vodafone employees, on the basis that they are wearing suits; which some must take to mean they can't be residents!! Presumably, these are the 'massive number' of people who have added their names to the LibDem petition in an attempt to stop unrestricted parking in the Town Centre?
Having of necessity spent some time travelling on business and as a consequence suffering from some of the more inane local planning rules on parking I have every sympathy for the car parkers. What on earth is wrong with someone legally parking on a public highway outside a dwelling house? Before you ask, yes, people do park directly outside my home.
