Winter tyres for the win. tongue.gif

They said it would snow before but it never did really...when I get told they're dreaming of a "white christmas" I have an entirely different image in my head...one involved whipped cream and fuzzy handcuffs...

Basically I got arrested stealing some Elmlea low-fat. The policeman thought he'd embarrass me as much as possible at the time.

Are we all going to die? Will there be more than 1"? Should I prepare soup for the homeless thousands?

We really are a nation of wimps. So lucky we have a Transport Minister to make everything better...... angry.gif

Choices can be tricky with weather , 3 weeks ago in January I was pleased to find a builder who was prepared to start re-roofing ....At the time the weather was almost balmy.
They took the old roof off in sunshine and it was snowing by lunchtime. So I have been tarpaulined for a while.

Today in 0c they were still up there. I did overhear them comparing the number of pairs of jeans they were wearing.
Not a polish accent to be heard. So some do grit teeth and get on with things.

Well maybe for Penelope and Amelie, the builders were paying the price for the summertime tattoos.
Paul Whitehouse is a near neighbour, (scaffolders etc) He was made fun of recently by a load of blokes.
Still it was darn cold. Not Siberian, which the Met office like to quote, just very cold.

I am not old, but it is chilly. The cat has found a warm spot . I am off to find a duvet and put the heating back on

Why can't there be any female builders who wear trousers which go down far too much. They wouldn't even need to wear anything underneath.
I was at the Total Jetwash over the weekend at Speen washing my car, someone had a Peugeot, and he was cleaning it obviously (why else would you be at a Jetwash other to pray on middle aged men and women, or people in their 20's) and his tracksuits were literally falling down, you could see half of his bum and quite a lot of crack from halfway across the car park.

Was not a pleasant sight, I nearly felt like pointing the jetwash at him but felt he would have shanked me bruv.
Wasn't Paul Whitehouse that dude that looked a bit like Alan Partridge?

Paul Whitehouse was the educated scaffolder & with Harry Enfield would comment on girls passing by.
As you are supposed to.....Then they would return to discussing Aida.

Alan Partridge in the papers today seems to be wearing an old fashioned floormop on his head.
Or was that the old Etonian H-F-W after a bad cookery session.

I make no comment on funny japes other than a chap in Norfolk had his insides damaged beyond repair
after" friends" used a compressed air machine to have a larf

A peculiar mix of counties and towns. I wonder what part of Brighton is not already in East Sussex? Or is Milton Keynes no longer in Buckinghamshire? smile.gif

I suspected they've lifted it straight off the Met Office site without thinking about it.

They're council areas. MK and Buckinghamshire are separate as are East Sussex and Brighton.

I did notice that last Sunday during the first dusting, that major arterial route of Northcroft Lane was gritted right down to the sports centre, and back again. No treatment for all the other residential areas though...

Does anyone have an accurate temperature reading for this afternoon in New bury, please (Saturday)? The reason I ask is I have just bought a max-min thermometer and it was reading well over zero when I must have been below. It's going back anyway, since each side is giving a different reading (2 degrees difference!) which doesn't instil confidence!

Hope someone can help.

Fornicate away from here, ye unwelcome character. I worked hard at my spelling tests.
Did anyone get any pictures of the snow in their area? Or any of the surrounding areas... apparently Maidenhead had like "feet" of snow rather than a couple of inches that we had. I would have gone and had a look but it's a long way to drive and it was late when I actually realised it was snowing. tongue.gif
