QUOTE (Strafin @ Apr 27 2015, 06:18 PM) I would like to know if the potential MP for Newbury lives in Newbury, yes. I don't think, there is anything sinister about that. "I know where you live" A good old fashioned threat....

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Apr 27 2015, 10:18 PM) "I know where you live" Though there's always someone to get you home when you're tired and emotional.

QUOTE (Strafin @ Apr 28 2015, 08:10 PM) I assume she doesn't live in Newbury, apparently a pre requisite for most of our political representatives! The Newbury Constituency includes Hungerford, Thatcham, Kintbury and numerous other towns and villages. There are other places to live other than Newbury and I don't think it needs to be a prerequisite to live above a shop on Bartholomew Street in order to represent the constituency. It would however help if you lived in the local area and perhaps use the local services, shops and have a good in-depth knowledge of the area. That's not too much to ask of our HoC rep

QUOTE (Strafin @ Apr 28 2015, 08:10 PM) I assume she doesn't live in Newbury, apparently a pre requisite for most of our political representatives! I would presume that Bunting has a home address in the Northcroft ward because she is nominating Gwen Mason in the district council election and a requirement is that the nominators live in the ward (though curiously enough it's not a requirement on the nominee). I don't know what her problem is. If you're going to stand for public office you have to accept a degree of public scrutiny and I don't think it's unreasonable that the electorate know your home address.
