QUOTE (motormad @ Jul 22 2014, 09:17 AM) Did make me smile. But maybe it is a bit soon. It's a horrible act that happened. Although doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to have a giggle and make light of the situation. Humour is a coping mechanism, but I don't think it is 'making light' of the situation......

QUOTE (x2lls @ Jul 22 2014, 11:03 PM) The OP had absolutely no laugh at the victims. As stated, the chuckle was aimed at the political crud that surrounds it. So stop getting on your high and mighty moral high ground and read before you type! It probably wouldn't sound so funny to you if your children were on the plane.

QUOTE (x2lls @ Jul 23 2014, 07:47 AM) Exactly Exactly what? Start going on about reading before posting, I'd suggest some might think before posting. No-one was getting on a moral high horse. People just objected to what many people would have thought of as an unfunny comment.

Correct, but as MM stated, they weren't though were they?. 'Exactly'! And if they were, do you think I'd be looking at a little forum such as this one? And yes, there is a moral high ground attitude on this thread.

QUOTE (x2lls @ Jul 23 2014, 10:36 AM) 'It probably wouldn't sound so funny to you if your children were on the plane.' Correct, but as MM stated, they weren't though were they?. 'Exactly'! And if they were, do you think I'd be looking at a little forum such as this one? This is a public forum and to that end people should be respectful of that. QUOTE (x2lls @ Jul 23 2014, 10:36 AM) And yes, there is a moral high ground attitude on this thread. So it is fair game to be the subject of a joke because in your eyes, it has nothing to do with you? That is crass. This has nothing to do with moral high ground, just common decency. In my view the 'joke' is inappropriate and deserves to be criticised accordingly, but I stop short of censorship. I'd leave it as an epitaph to the ignorant.

So stop getting on your high and mighty moral high ground and read before you type! No Moral high ground. It is the type of joke my friends would sometimes email to me. sometimes I will find the joke amusing (even if someone has suffered) sometimes not. However many don't share my sense of humour so I wouldn't expect to see it on a site like this! To use the PM function here to forward the joke to those you know won't be offended would be acceptable.
