The one in the park was ok. The last one was comedy gold.

You do have a very odd view of things.

It's not often I agree with the pensioners on here, but the Christmas market is full pf overpriced tat. Winchester's the same mind you. It's a once only experience and quickly forgotten.

I guess it is all relative.

Well it would appear that a great many others agree with me though, as it states there were not enough traders interested, so therefore punters were not interested either? rolleyes.gif

If we are really honest, it was never going to be a big attraction anyway. The market (also the right word here) for these things is saturated and was when the Newbury version first stated. Round here we haven't even got enough customers or stall holders to keep the Charter market viable. Let's let it go and try something new.

They agree with you though what?

A Great many others. One other isn't it.

So therefore - a case of...therefore I'll assume what I like to suit my point.

Well if traders thought that Newburians were not prepared to purchase their tat and therefore it was not viable for them to make a profit ergo I must not be alone in my view eh? rolleyes.gif

I'm sure that all makes sense to you.

Anyway, what about your original question - "Now where does one go to find exorbitantly priced tat for Christmas presents?" which made me comment that you have an odd way of looking at things.

It's all just very sad and a fundamental misunderstanding as to how these things work. In retail, the buying and ordering for 2017 is already in place. For the time we here have been trying to get this going, they've always left it far far too late to attract stall holders. Apart from a few emerging amateurs, there really aren't any simply sitting round 'waiting for the call'. Understandably for the size of the town, we really haven't got the expertise or skills to do this let alone the means to pay for it. First rule of dead horses; if you find yourself on one, jump off.

Well don't fret about it it's not possible for anyone to understand everything and of course satire is not something that a WBC officiando would be expected to understand. rolleyes.gif
