Adrian Beecroft, (a venture capitalist and Conservative Party kebab) thinks it would boost the economy if we were to allow employers to hire and fire at will.

Is a Tory Doner a bit like a Doner Kebab? i.e. seemed like a good idea at the time but is now making you really queasy?

Firing employees at will would not fix it. 95% of businesses are run by bean counters and if they find they can fire a employee who is being paid £35k a year (and who earns his/her money, not dossing around) and replace them with someone who they can pay £22-£23k, they would do it regardless. Not to mention the whole "so-and-so doesn't get on with manager, manager couldn't previously fire employee because they actually did their job" now means that employee can be out on their *** quite quickly.
Unfair and not surprising coming from a Tory. Bunch of stuck up ****s. |
