Today's the big day - at least for BBC2 if I've understood it correctly. http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/postcodechecker...G14+5AA/NA/0/NAJust switched on my TV and no channels at all appeared (I thought they were only switching BBC2 today - see above). Re-tuned TV and although it reported picking up 140ish channels (this is Freeview) I'm still not receiving anything. I expect I'm missing something obvious - how is everyone else getting on?

QUOTE (part time @ Feb 8 2012, 07:43 AM) Had the same problem myself with BBC channels seemingly not appearing this morning. Will try again when I get home I suppose, fingers crossed. As neither the TV nor DVR would tune to the BBC channels earlier I assume there was a problem with the signal the first time I tried. As I mentioned it was fine when I left home. Is that right re HD and Freeview, User?

Please don't get HD. I'm not ready. I don't know why they have the need to change everything, it sort of works how it is. I think they are removing the analogue signals so new wireless technology such as 4G and what not can be introduced but you can't just go to a long established house and go "RIGHT WE'RE BUILDING A BAR RIGHT HERE AND IF YOU LIVE IN THE HOUSE OR USE ITS FEATURES YOU HAVE NO COMEBACK"... oh wait the council/various associations do that all the time. I don't watch TV...I use mine only for the Ps3, I watch Top Gear and that's about it which I stream live in teh iPlayer (which is also digital in case you did not know ) Time for a Pepsi (which tastes exactly the same as a Coca-cola)

Is that right re HD and Freeview, User? Freeview HD is available from the 22nd Feb from Hannington, apparently. There's only four channels in HD. You'll need a Freeview HD tuner though, an HD Ready TV with standard won't show it in HD.

QUOTE (Penelope @ Feb 8 2012, 10:01 AM) Not to mention an HD telly, (not HD ready mind you, completely different beast) You can get TVs with Freeview HD built in. It's actually been around for a couple of years, but we're only getting it here now.

Where has the old chap gotten to anyway? Maybe the Lib Dems whisked him away and threw him in jail.
We need to start a protest for the safe return of good old RG!!

QUOTE (Andy Capp @ Feb 8 2012, 01:01 PM) I think he's got a new job and works 'unsocial' hours. What I would say in response to that would probably get me banned Hint begins with G...ends in go and isn't "go". Although it was hard for me too when I was in that line of work but it was fun and paid well.

QUOTE (Sherlock @ Feb 8 2012, 06:15 AM) Update: I've retuned both the TV and DVR and am getting some channels but not others: e.g. BBC1, BBC2 and BBC News are not working, ITV, C4 and Sky News are.
Another update: as you were, retuned both the TV and DVR and the second time it picked up all the channels including BBC2. If at first you don't succeed... My experience too. I did two complete automatic searches, and found I had no BBC1 or BBC2. I did a factory reset, but still no luck. Another automatic search - still no luck, so I waited an hour or so. A new search produced the missing channels, but the reception quality is poor - a jerky picture and intermittent sound. No doubt it will improve.

No doubt it will improve. So the service has improved then!
