Newbury Today Forum _ Random Rants _ Labour Manifesto

My first thought is that every FTSE and FTSE250 company will move its registered office to Alderney or Douglas and that tax take will crash.

My 2nd thought is that to make up for this shortfall all middle earners (25k+) will see significant tax rises to compensate for this.

My 3rd thought is that they really are living in some sort of parallel universe. 🤣

Beginning to think we are ALL in a parallel universe when the most newsworthy item is about an over privileged slob putting his hand up a teenage bimbo's frock........Allegedly rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Comments like that, no wonder historical victims find it hard to come forward. Way to go.

Maybe you are part of the problem if you still have views like that

They're not the first,

And they won't be the last. Marxism, good news for business.

Unfortunately they don't do a "hands up" emoji so I stand as accused, but equally I defend my stance though I am not sure which party you are defending or your reasoning behind it.

Not defending any party - just highlighting that your attitude towards sexual assault stinks. I think the majority on here would agree!

Looks as if the Trades Unions are also jumping in to help Labour right now too. What better than memories of the 1970s.

Sorry you have lost me somewhere. Don't recollect demeaning the act or advocating a sexist stance, just empathising the media obsession with trivia at the expense of more relevant issues.

Well, I've just layed a century on Labour to win, got 12's. Was going to put something on lib Dems but it's just a waste of money.

You were done. You can get 25s with Corals or Ladbrokes.
Lib Dems are 400s and a Conservative majority is 4/9.

Locally 1/8 Conservative and 9/2 Lib Dems (Skybet)

Really? Oh well, never mind. Not much of a one for the bookies but even at those odds it's worth a quick punt.

Any chance of the Lib Dems in Newbury? Thinking about a small punt...

If Corbyn get's the key to no 10 we will all be a charity case. Anyone see him being "grilled" by Andrew Neil this evening? Not a happy bunny was he.

Think you are right. Earnest little faces saying their policies are 'fact' based and if we vote for them, we won't need a referendum because we know exactly what they'll do - stop Brexit and stay in. Of course, they haven't a scoobies about what that actually means, but we can guess:-
If we stay, that's it, we are in for good
If we stay, we'll be welcomed like a naughty boy who says sorry
If we stay, we'll be punished, that is pay full whack, no special discount
If we stay, no protection for City; which will migrate to Frankfurt
If we stay, forget any 'industrial revival' we'll just be assemblers if that
If we stay, we'll be hard pushed to stay out of Euro.
If we stay, we will be bailing out Greece, Italy, Ireland etc.etc.etc.
If we stay, wave by by to our own armed forces.
And the list goes on. If we think that the Corbyn scenario is the worse we have to face, it isn't.

Between a shady looking character in red and a large expanse of H2O comes to mind. The annoying aspect of All of the political parties is their inherent belief that they know best and the electorate is just something to brainwash. The only surety is we will have a chance to express our contempt once again by 2024. rolleyes.gif

I'm sure that she will get her chance to do so in the Panorama interview on Monday evening. In the meantime I would agree with SirWilliam that there are actually more important issues to deal with in this country. For example:

"In clip that is circulating online today, filmed in 2011 when Mr Corbyn was a backbench MP, he also claims that the then director general Mark Thompson had 'an agenda'."

"He said: 'I think there is a bias [in the BBC] towards saying that Israel has a democracy in the Middle East, that Israel has a right to exist, Israel has its security concerns.'"

Oh dear.

Maybe so but it was about the comment not the headline.
