Decided to dig the old bike out of the shed and use these very impressive, and equally expensive, cycle lanes which seem to be grossly underused.
Covers are a bit frayed so thought it prudent to replace them. Halfords first stop. 'No Sir we don't stock that size'. eBay, no luck either. Amazon, no but maybe you would like another size???
So on the off chance does anyone know where I can get 27x1 tyres from? Good bike otherwise.

Good move. I started road biking a few months ago. I like cycling but never really felt safe on the roads so I used the lockdown to build my confidence. I got up to 35 miles before my SCA but am back up to 25 now. I live in the Enborne end so tend to head out towards Hungerford & Lambourne & back. I absolutely love it on a Sunday morning when there's really hardly any traffic.

I assume you cycle in order to enjoy the countryside while maintaining an element of fitness that you otherwise would miss, and are not one of those lycra clad lunatics that think they are Eddie Merckx and everything else on the road should give way to them?
Rant over as they say and enjoy the trips.

To our younger viewers Eddie Merckx was a Belgian road racer., and quite a good one at that.
