Newbury Town Council has unveiled the latest in a series of public art works to form part of the Newbury Town Trail. The artwork, entitled Binary Conversation, depicts two monumental heads turned towards one another. “I want to explore the notion of a human interaction,” artist Joseph Hillier explained. The two sculptures will depict two human heads in conversation. One of the heads will be formed from hundreds of circular rings, the other from hundreds of round particles. "I am interested in the two heads being formed from two opposite particles, like binary, yet having a strong connection and making sense together". The completed artwork, which will be unveiled at the official opening of Willow Close early in 2012, will be installed on Old Hospital Green‟, alongside the Andover Road. I'm a big fan of public art and I totally love this allegory on the Town Council: Two parties in conversation, one talking balls, the other talking from their rings, and neither with ears to hear.

Or, as Dr Watson famously said "No s**t, Sherlock!" Well the artist clearly isn't aware, and nobody else had mentioned it so I think your sarcasm is a little misplaced. I was making a point, not trying to flex my grey matter.

QUOTE (Strafin @ Sep 21 2011, 11:16 PM) Binary is ones and zeros, not discs and balls. No it's not. Being base 2 it can be any opposite states. e.g, up / down, on / off, yes / no, light / dark, something / nothing, to be / not to be, got the point / missed the point.

QUOTE (Nothing Much @ Sep 22 2011, 10:32 AM) Scrap value? I thought Grumblingagain was pretty funny for 7.12 AM. 101 Usually at that time in the morning my humour is a 404.

QUOTE (Turin Machine @ Sep 21 2011, 11:36 PM) I can see where you were coming from, I assumed the title related to the two different states of matter in proximity yet still in juxtaposition. Exactly
