Let’s see if we can guess the climate change deniers on here.

I've recently been at a seminar looking at these divides. The Age one shouldn't surprise anyone at all. Indeed, the real surprise is that the movers and shakers pushing boundaries simply ignore this, often creating the type of mayhem and division we see today. Like it or not, we are shaped by our formative years. So then, being of a certain age, yes, I do find it 'difficult' to accept todays's focus and concentration on sexuality. Until I left school homosexuality was regarded as a serious criminal offence, taught and enforced as such. We, the young unwashed railed only against the clear unfairness and lack of compassion. I voted in the in the Common Market referendum and the UK back then was just as divided. Heath and his ilk used a lot of what we'd now call fake news to get his way; but a significant number were anti and horrified by what it would do for our families and links with commonwealth nations. The 'for' majority was simply a result of Harold Wilson politicising the issue, so the then deferential population voted for the establishment view.

Climate change is a vastly important subject, again, very badly promoted; the older generation certainly have some valid thoughts on fuel policy; which are studiously ignored by the 'movers and shakers'. If we'd retained proper control of the energy industry we'd have a much more cohesive and better managed change delivery. However, again, the national interest is sacrificed on the altar of 'market forces' and pseudo political science. Meaning the Daily Mail can rubbish essential components at will; rather than concentrating on the real issue; the hideous waste of public money in the usual appalling UK managements.

Very few people would deny that climate change exists.
It has been happening throughout the life of the planet.
There was a time when most of our country was covered in ice!
Whether the current trend is man made is up for debate.
Nothing has been proved conclusively.
However, even if it is, most us, including yourself, are hypocritical about it!
That is unless you don't...........
Drive a fossil fueled vehicle.
Heat your home using fossil fuels.
Use appliances that use electricity made from burning fossil fuels. (you do because you are using a computer!)
Take foreign holidays using aircraft.
Support the building of another runway at Heathrow.
Go on cruises.
Produce more than 2 children
The list obviously goes on.
So, Mr./Mrs./Ms. newres, in answer to yet another trolling post from you, even if we do not deny it what is the answer? Except perhaps from mass extermination of the human populous! ohmy.gif

Ban plastic straws, disposable coffee cups and replace all your home’s lightbulbs. That should do it!

I'd hazard a guess and say no one. Climate change is real and is man made. Not by white racists, but by the human population. Nothing a good plague or a bit of pestillence couldn't sort out. I'm sure mother nature will find a way.👍

Very true. But plagues and pestillence are nothing to do with religion and all to do with mother nature.

Had a large hunk of rock not inadvertently fallen on Mexico 65 million years ago it is doubtful we would have evolved as a species. The question is, "was that an act of some divine intervention so as to populate the planet with homo sapiens or a random event"? Now even the most devout believer would be hard pressed to admit that their chosen one would take the best part of 5 billion years to implement plan B, so it is safe to assume that nature is the ruling body and we disrespect her at our peril.

Maybe, just maybe the earth is god? I mean it makes more sense than some chap with a long beard peering down from on high. By the same token he (she) may be a little pissed off by those irritating little bipeds running amok over his body and has decided to have a spring clean.

Quite. And if she does I expect it will be claimed as some sort of "wrath" by the sky fairy beleivers and cause a spike in ridiculousness.😮

Last night the council declared they would back a motion to declare a climate change emergency in West Berkshire. The meeting was attended and protested by extinction rebellion in far larger numbers than I would have expected. I have never been to any sort of protest, nor have I been to observe one, and I have to say it's hard not to admire that level of passion, and they were all well behaved, well spoken, and to be fair so were the council.

They can do what they like, it won't make any difference.
