Not before time . With re-cycling centres within driving distance there can be no excuse whatsoever for their actions . I agree that 16 weeks should have been nearer the mark but why should the honest tax payer be burdened with the expense of the upkeep of these feckless individuals ?
A more fitting punishment would be to have them clean up their and other's mess .

Quite agree it's like do one offence, get one free.
Judiciary rarely seem to issue consecutive sentences here.

Prison seems slightly extreme to me. People get community service for worse offences.

I tend to agree that prison is the lesser option but it is important that " we shoot a few to discourage the many " . Community work is a far better approach but the sad fact remains that unscrupulous individuals are putting two fingers up to society by their actions and it has to be stopped .
